Mount Rinjani Trekking Information
Mount Rinjani, or Gunung Rinjani, is an active volcano on the island of Lombok, Indonesia. Administratively, the mountain is in the regency of North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It rises to 3,726 meters, making it the second-highest volcano in Indonesia. The crater lake known as Segara Anak, whose water is as blue as the sea, partially fills the 6-by-8.5-kilometer caldera on the volcano’s summit. This lake is approximately 2,000 meters above sea level and estimated to be about 200 meters deep; the caldera also contains hot springs. UNESCO made Mount Rinjani Caldera a part of the Global Geoparks Network in April 2018.
