Mount Anak Dara is situated on the eastern side of the village of Sembalun Lawang, within the district of Eastern Lombok. Mount Anak Dara rises to a height of approximately 1920 meters. At a glance, Mount Anak Dara looks very close and not too high. However, the trajectory is revolving, leaving no one without power. From the outset, the climbing field has started to ascend towards the summit. Therefore, it’s not unusual for novice climbers to feel overwhelmed.
Mount Anak Dara has two poskos. From the two poscoes, it’s evident that there’s no level ground to traverse.
The distance between the motorcycle parking area and the first posko is approximately 2 km. A forest trail awaits you, featuring a twisted and rough road surface.
Once you’ve reached the first post, you can rest for a moment to regain energy. After this post, the conditions for climbing to the second post will get worse.
As soon as it reaches the summit of Mount Anak Dara, all that hard work will pay off. From this vantage point, the sight is truly breathtaking. From above, you can see the territory of Sembalun, Sumbawa, even the island of Bima, and the small gili-gili that are in the middle of the sea.
For beginner climbers, the best time to climb Mount Anak Dara during the summer is between April and October.
Beginner climbers should avoid November to March due to unpredictable weather conditions, including heavy rain, storms, and lightning, which can compromise their safety.
The entrance ticket is 20,000 rupees per person, while the parking fee is 10,000.
On the way to Mount Anak Dara’s location from the village of Sembalun Lawang, you can take your motorcycle right down the foot of the hill and park it there.
